2024 Southern Oregon TT - July 27 - 29
/ Moto Meeto HQThe Southern Oregon TT has always been more than just a ride—it's an experience that blends the thrill of motorcycling with the art of attention to detail. Since our first jaunt back in 2019, it’s been an annual pilgrimage, mixing the adrenaline of motorcycling with the meticulous artistry of vintage bike maintenance, and lots of luck.
For those uninitiated, the Southern Oregon TT is a gathering of like-minded enthusiasts, all on pre-’75 motorcycles under 350cc. This year, Joe rolled out his XR350, and I brought my CL350—determined to redeem myself from last year’s debacle. I was itching to hit the road. And what a road it was! But honestly, it’s the people that make this event my favorite. There’s nothing quite like the camaraderie that forms when you’re all in the same parking lot. When flat tires pop up or timing issues arise, solutions are found quickly, usually with a side of good-natured ribbing. And let’s be real—the post-ride parking lot banter is half the fun.
The first day’s ride was a true test, serving up 237 miles of jaw-dropping roads and scenery. My dual carbs and tiny gas tank had a bit of a moment on those steep inclines, but a spare gallon of fuel tucked away saved the day. Over the course of three days, we clocked in just over 650 miles, soaking in some of the most picturesque views and natural wonders Southern Oregon has to offer. The ride wasn’t without its challenges—steep inclines, dramatic elevation changes, and the nerve-wracking 130-mile stretch between gas stops had us all on our toes. But with the unwavering support of Mike, Kodiak Bill, and the support team (Bill, Skip, Jennifer, Blue, and others) the ride went off without a hitch. Let’s just say, that extra gallon of gas was worth its weight in gold!
The cherry on top of this wild ride? The awards ceremony. Handcrafted awards, a venue brimming with pizza, salad, fries, and beer—it was the perfect end to an unforgettable event.
The Spirit of the Southern Oregon TT
The Southern Oregon TT isn’t merely about the vast miles and amazing scenery; it’s about the shared passion, the deep connections, and the unspoken bond that motorcycling brings. The dedication of the entire SOTT crew is a testament to how much this event means to all of us, and I can’t wait ‘till next year.
See you on the next ride!
Cheers,
Alex Z.
